My Next Chapter: Bringing Proven Brand Experience to Small, Purpose-Driven Teams
After more than two decades leading brand and marketing teams from the inside, I’ve made the leap into a new chapter: consulting.
It’s a shift I’ve been building toward for a long time—one fueled by a desire to bring my experience to small and emerging brands that are hungry to grow with purpose. While I love the energy of working in-house and being part of something bigger than myself, there’s something incredibly rewarding about stepping into a founder's world, helping them clarify their vision, and building a brand that reflects their mission from the ground up.
What I’ve Learned from Two Decades in Marketing
Over the years, I’ve held senior marketing roles across the outdoor and active lifestyle industries. I’ve led launches, shaped brand stories, developed e-commerce strategies, built high-performing teams, and aligned marketing strategies with business objectives in ways that have driven real results.
One of the most defining experiences of my career was my time at KEEN Footwear, where I spent over a decade helping shape the brand’s identity and voice. From the STAND Campaign to the #LiveMonumental movement, I saw firsthand how a brand’s values could become its greatest differentiator, how purpose-driven storytelling can create real community and impact – and how clear leadership makes the difference between so-so and sensational.
Later, at Superfeet, I stepped into the role of Vice President of Marketing and had the privilege of leading global brand strategy. We launched new product categories and brand extensions all while deepening the brand’s commitment to inclusion and social impact. We supported initiatives like Take the Lead for women of color in the running industry, and donated 1% of annual sales and over 1,000 hours of volunteer time to nonprofits. It was powerful work, and it taught me how values and business goals can—and should—coexist.
Why I Chose to Consult
While I loved the work I was doing in-house, I began to feel a pull toward something more entrepreneurial and more flexible. I wanted to be in the room with founders and early-stage teams, helping them build the kind of brand foundation that would allow them to grow with clarity and intention. I realized I could make a bigger impact by offering my skills as a consultant and fractional marketing leader—giving smaller organizations access to senior-level marketing expertise without the overhead of a full-time hire.
This transition has allowed me to focus on what I love most: helping people shape their story, define their strategy, and build marketing that delivers—not just buzz, but sustainable momentum.
What I Bring to the Table
As a consultant, I bring the full weight of my in-house experience, paired with the agility and listening skills that come from working closely with diverse teams. I approach every project with a collaborative mindset and a belief in thoughtful, human-centered marketing. And I’ve seen time and again that even the scrappiest startup can benefit from the kind of brand thinking often reserved for the Fortune 500.
As I continue this journey, I’m excited to meet more founders, operators, and creative teams looking to bring their vision to life. If you’re building something meaningful and need a partner to help you shape your brand and marketing strategy, I’d love to hear from you.
Let’s create something intentional—and impactful—together.
